Hi everyone!
Some of you have already seen this on Social media.
I have decided to leave Novu to be able to go full-time on Gitroom.
I am on a mission to help as many open-source founders and maintainers as possible. 🚀
A while back, I talked with Omer - former Head of Product of Novu, and today, leading retention and engagement growth for eToro
We have talked about some interesting topics:
Marketing vs. Growth and why early stage companies should focus on Growth.
Why would you launch something, and how do you know it’s successful
How to choose the platform to launch on
How come Novu has almost no followers on Social media but still has 31k stars?
Difference between marketing to engineers and other b2b-based companies.
I had a lot of fun. Feel free to watch it here (Subscribe if you can 😉):
I have been working with two companies to increase their visibility and attract more people. We have had two good super launch weeks.
Our aim?
Become trending over GitHub.
Let’s break them down.
Taipy is an open-source Python library for easy, end-to-end application development, featuring what-if analyses, brilliant pipeline execution, built-in scheduling, and deployment tools.
We climbed from around 500 stars to almost 2,000 stars in one week.
We had a super-converting listicle from DEV to GitHub stars.
We launched Taipy on Show Hackernews and promoted it on the Gitroom Discord
We paid Santiago $1500 for posts on Linkedin and X (prices on his website)
We posted Taipy on /r/selfhosted
We created an article on Medium and promoted it on different Reddit channels.
All that in one WEEK.
Now, let's do it every week 😉
Copilotkit has two products: in-app chatbots and AI-enabled Textareas.
We haven’t finished the launch.
We climbed from around 400 stars to 1.4k and will probably finish with 2k stars.
We had a super-converting listicle from DEV to GitHub stars.
We launched CopilotKit on Show Hackernews and promoted it on the Gitroom Discord (we have been on HN for almost two days)
We had a successful ProductHunt launch (#2nd of the day) with a clear call-to-action to our GitHub.
We created a super technical article about ChatGPT execution context vs. ChatGPT RAG and promoted it over Reddit. It got super popular Here and Here
We have one more listicle planned and a post in /r/webdev (Showoff Saturday)
Things will slow down until Christmas, but we are ready to rock n’ roll.
I am happy to help any founder/maintainer to find their growth.
Get more stars
Get more contributors
Get more visibility
Get more customers
I might give you some “aha!” moments. Who knows 🙇🏻♂️
See you next week!p
